Honda recently introduced one of the world's most
technologically advanced motorcycles, the 2010 VFR1200F sport touring bike.
Starting from a clean slate, Honda set out to build a cutting-edge V-4 powered motorycle that used the latest and greatest technology , and in
doign so, they set the stage for their entire two-wheel division going forwards.
The nucleus of the design paradigm centered around the notion that this sport motorcycle would have to be a sheer joy to ride and ride hard, for long periods of time and over large distances. It seems Honda has achieved its aim.
The VFR1200F is built around a super smooth compact 76-degree liquid cooled V-4 engine that is controlled
via "throttle by wire" technology, similar to what's found in today's most sophisticated aircraft. Connecting this power to wheels
is a standard 6-speed transmission or Honda's new automated-manual dual clutch setup. All these great items are encapsulated into a
stunning "Tron like GP technology" based aero styled fairing, that's said to possess unrivaled air management characteristics in terms
of slipperiness, stability and rider ergonomics.
Engine and fairing meet the ground through a 43mm inverted cartridge front fork suspension with adjustable 4.7 inches of travel and
a rear Honda Pro Am single sided swing arm suspended via single gas charged shock with 5.1 inches of travel
The VFR will come standard with two saddle bags when it goes on sale sometime in the Spring 2010. Price has not been announced yet
but being at the leading edge of motorcycle technology and comfort, most likely won't come cheap.
