The Chevrolet 2010 Corvette Grand Sport model has arrived and it's a beauty. Chevrolet's latest rendition of the C6 Corvette is replete with all sorts of visual and performance goodies, and continues on where the last Grand Sport model left off, way back in 1996 with the C4 variant.

Packing massive "beef cake" like tires and incorporating a virtually identical ZO6 look, only without the bigger engine and heftier price, the 2010 Grand Sport is one phenomenal looking machine and immediately recognizable on the road, especially when viewed from the rear.

The new Grand sport combines the Corvette's base LS3 power train with a unique body style and a racing bred suspension that makes for a distinctive model, whether on the road or track. The Grand Sport is offered in both coupe and convertible, with either a six speed manual or six speed automatic transmission. The engine is rated at 430 horsepower and 424 lb-ft of torque. Also available, is an optional two mode exhaust system which brings with it another 6 horsepower and 4 lb-ft of torque to the already wonderful mix.

The Grand Sport takes the place of the previous Z51 package and adds an entirely new dimension to the handling and performance by integrating much bigger tires, revised shocks and stabilizers and specific gearing.

Starting at $55,720 and melding together its aggressive good looks, super glue handling, 0-60 times of under 4 second and 26 MPH highway; the Grand Sport should be well received, with no competitor even coming close. Legendary Corvette engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov would be proud.

Included In The Grand Sport Model:
• Wider front and rear fenders
• ZO6 style splitter hood and rear spoiler
• Functional brake ducts and additional cooling
• Unique 18-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels
• Massive beef cake like tires: 275/35ZR18 tires in the front and 325/30ZR19 tires in the rear
• Equally massive ZO6 brakes including 14-inch cross drilled front rotors with six-piston calipers and
13.4-inch (340 mm) rear rotors with four-piston calipers • Specific manual transmission gear ratios
• Specific rear axle ratio on automatic-equipped models
• Dry sump oiling system (manual transmission only)
• Differential cooler (manual transmission only)
• Rear Mounted Battery (manual transmission only)
