It was only a matter of time before some savvy engineers came up with a computer controlled climbing wall for exercise and fun. The futuristic looking Climbstation is a electrically powered hydraulic climbing simulator that resembles a vertical treadmill or the under belly of some massive tank tread.

Fully portable and costing far less than the equivalent permanent climbing wall, the Climbstation allows anyone to enjoy the tremendous excitement and exercise benefits of mountain climbing right from the safety of their own backyards, in a small controlled environment, all while remaining only 3 meters off the ground with no harness.

The 1,600 lb Climbstation's compact construction requires a footprint of only 6.2 ft x 11.8 ft and a height of 12 ft in order to operate successfully. Fully computerized, and with a hi-resolution touch screen monitor controlling station, the Climbstation is extremely user friendly and easy to operate and maintain. Featuring Twelve different climbing levels, numerous speed adjustments, performance and workout tracking, and a unique tilting ability from +15 degrees to -39 degrees, the Climbstation should insure hours and hours of backyard mountaineering. Expect to see this in a gym near you very soon.

The Climbstation retails for $42,000 and takes roughly 8-12 weeks to arrive from Finland.

what a phenominal idea for people who like climbing, they do it right in their own backyard. I wonder how many Gyms across the nation are considering this
