Perched some 1,353 feet above Wacker drive in Chicago is the new Sears Tower Skydeck Ledge. The ledge is two fully enclosed frameless glass observation decks that jut out 4.3 feet from the side of the 103rd floor.

A marvel of engineering, each observation ledge is constructed of high strength, low iron, fully tempered glass panels weighing 1,500 lbs. Each panel is comprised of three layers of half-inch thick glass laminated into one seamless unit, each with an incredible strength bearing threshold that has been successfully tested to over 10,000 lbs (let's hope); far more than will ever placed upon them. Engineers also designed the ledges to be fully retractable in order to allow for the normal unobstructed operation of the standard window cleaning rigs.

Admission to the Skydeck, including the Ledge, is $14.95. The feeling of standing in the sky at helicopter level with nothing but 1,300+ feet of air below you ....priceless.
