Ready to hunt down and terminate rogue replicants in some dystopian future? Well, your vehicle is ready. The innovative E7 from Carbon Motors represents the future in law enforcement vehicles. With the “proof of concept” prototype unveiled back in late 2008, The E7 represents the first vehicle engineered and specifically built for law enforcement. The design is the culmination of years of research and the integration of numerous world class technologies and officer protection wrapped up into one awe-inspiring machine.

Featuring a massive “AWAC like” 15-inch touch screen center control with compact wireless keyboard, the E7 has unprecedented onboard system communications and vehicle control functionality. The heart of the main system is the Onboard Rapid Command Architecture or (ORCA) , which links all E7 vehicles to the central dispatch, crime databases or other patrol cars. The touch screen system has a clear, user friendly interface that also displays images from the back seat eye camera, GPS/LoJack tracking navigation maps, NORAD controls (just kidding), as well as full access controls to the lights, sirens, radios and PA system.

The E7 is powered by an efficient 300 hp clean turbocharged diesel engine that delivers an estimated 40 percent improvement (28-30 mpg) in fuel economy over current models in use by law enforcement. The low cost, low maintenance engine was designed with a durability benchmark of 250,000 miles and powers the E7 from 0-60 in 6.5 seconds with a top speed of 155mph.

If you watch any of the hundreds of reality videos on TV or the internet these days, you’ll know all to well that police officers often end up in very dangerous and often viscous high speed pursuits. Taking this into account, the E7 has been bolstered to withstand a 75mph rear impact crash and is replete with the latest safety technology available, these include; antilock brakes, stability control, 4-wheel disc brakes, heavy duty suspensions, steel wheels, Integrated forward looking infrared system (FLIR), NIJ level III-A front door and dash ballistic protection and BMW-like 50/50 weight distribution for razor like handling.

All E7’s are delivered patrol ready to municipalities, including graphics and badges. So far Carbon Motors has orders for 10,000 vehicles to date and they hope to have the car on patrol by early 2012. No word on pricing as of yet …
