Wow! Take a look at this .. This Mega- gizmo is a “small scale 1:10” version of THE Saturn V Rocket . This amazing gizmo was prepared and launched by Steve Eve – on April 24 – 25, 2009, Higgs Farm in Maryland. It was the world’s tallest and heaviest model rocket that’s ever been launched and recovered. It was 36 feet tall and weighed in at 1,648 pounds!

Not only was it launched successfully, but it flew 4, 441 feet! It then worked as planned, breaking up into several parts, deploying parachutes on each, and safely landing to the ground within several miles of the launch. Everything was recovered. The total cost was an estimated $30,000 dollars. We are sure this endeavor was totally worth it – breaking a world record for largest amateur launch!
