The legendary Toyota Supra is slated to return in 2011
as a 400hp "fuel economizing Hybrid beast" according to
our inside sources at Toyota. The Supra which ended production
in 2002 remains until this day, the most sort after tuning
car ever.
Toyota in trying to recapture the previous Supra's grandeur and fill
the "sports car void" left since its departure, will base the new Supra on the futuristic
FT-HS Hybrid concept car that debuted in 2007.
It’s rumored that Toyota has been quietly working on the new Supra after gauging the public’s
reaction to the FT-HS prototype back in 2007; and they hope to have the pre-production model
ready for testing by the end of 2009.
The new Supra will mate a 3.6 V6 to a Hybrid system based on the current Camry. The gas/hybrid combo
platter should deliver an estimated 400hp to the rear wheels; all the while achieving excellent fuel economy
and emitting super low emissions.
It’s seems quite possible that the new Hybrid Supra will usher in a new type of sports car;
one that is fast , one that is efficient, one that is environmentally friendly, and one that
will change the notion of “what a traditional sports car should be” forever. We eagerly look
forward to its arrival.

This looks cool, but I still think the Nissan GT-R is just a work of art. I wonder what the specs are on this
