Apple unveiled the powerful and refined Mac OS X Snow Leopard operating system today.
Available as an upgrade for Mac OS X Leopard users in September 2009 for $29, it contains
hundreds of refinements and new core technologies. Here's a list:
- Rewritten Finder that utilizes Snow Leopards underlying technologies and 64-bit support
for a more responsive finder.
- A refined and convenient Espose that's now integrated into the Dock.
- A new time machine backup that is 50 percent faster
- Faster wakeup from sleep
- 75 percent faster shutdown time
- 55 percent faster wireless network joining time
- A streamline installation process that is 45 percent faster, while being more reliable
- A smaller overall footprint using half the disk space of the previous version, freeing approximately 6GB
- QuickTime X - the next generation media player
- Innovative Chinese Character input multi-Touch track-pad that allows a user to draw them instead of typing them phonetically.
- New high resolution 640-480 pixel video chat.
- A simplified and streamlined Services menu
- Automatic updates for printer drivers that are downloaded when a printer is plugged.
- Automatic Time zone setup using Wi-Fi hotspots to set the time zones automatically as you travel
- Advanced PDF test selection ability
- The faster more powerful Safari 4 web browser.

Not bad for $29. You are getting alot of upgrade for the money.
