A German inventor has designed a conceptual two seat folding micro helicopter called the Hummel. The Hummel concept incorporates a fully enclosed cabin, twin ducted rotors and the ability to fold into a box for ease of storage and transportation. The overall size and design will allow the Hummel to operate in very tight urban settings currently off limits to conventional helicoters due to their size and exposed rotors.
Daniel Kocyba's envisions the Hummel having many potential applications including air taxi, emergency services, coast guard, police, army, and not forgetting personal transport and recreation.
No word on technical specifications or date of production were given....

Can we use this to commute off Long Island Soon it might be the only way to travel and perserve your sanity. I'm curious, are they using these in Germany yet

This might usher in a whole new era of personal air travel much like the super hyped jet pack was supposed to do 20years ago.
