Apple has a unveiled an image of what might be their upcoming Netbook. Netbook sales have exploded over the past year as many consumers have migrated towards the cheaper Windows powered machines in order to save money and yet maintain a high standard of computing during hard economic times.

Apple, even though just having finished up a very strong quarter realizes that it must have a strong a Netbook model of its own, in order remain competitive and cater towards the prevailing market conditions. By introducing a Mac Netbook, they hope to bolster their low end model lineup and offer many of the same high end features found on the more expensive Macs only in a “lighter” more cost effective package that consumers are currently seeking.

We look forward towards its arrival …

This looks like an excellent market move on Apples part.

This looks nice but I recently purchased a Dell Studio 15 and im very happy with that. It was around 1000 bucks and does everything that these over priced laptops do. Your basically paying for the Name, the Graphics and the aluminum. And Windows Vista blows Leopard out of the water. No hate on apple though, they make great stuff, just alittle over priced.

The new Dell studio laptops are very nice, they did a great job at changing their product line and pricing it right. For a while there Dell lost its way, they seem to be back on track. The Apple Netbook is something they're going to have to watch very carefully ...

I think this is a great alternitive for parents that want to get their kids a laptop, but can't afford the much higher priced ones.
